As a part-time student, in order to get into top 10% for law school what are the things to do:

1) Summer before? read anything particular?
2) During law school, what approach has worked in the past? Any recommendations?

Magic.

Nothing will guarantee top 10%. Work hard. Work smart. Be better than 90% of the other students.

Good luck.

Hehe, I know you have to work hard but how exactly is it possible.. meaning what are the most important things?

briefs, outlines, anything else?

I am not a law student, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn last night.

Read around, you will get many different view points (some seem more legitimate than others).

In the end, everyone learns material different and has different thresholds for how work is done (i.e. long bouts of studying, late night, early morning, over the weekend, flash cards, etc, etc, etc).
