Nice, but not necessary.

The ability to format on the fly without much of a problem is a win in my book.

I actually have not messed around with this since I got my new laptop a year ago, I’m going to check this out, and it looks helpful in some ways.

I'm in my last semester of UG and I just started using it this week. It seems pretty helpful, kind of like having an electronic notebook. I'm not very experienced with it so I'm still trying to figure out some of the features on the fly. I know other TLSers have talked about the usefulness of many of OneNote's features.

Sounds nice, I'm going to try it out for this upcoming semester of UG

Watching this in case someone writes up a comprehensive review. I've been wondering whether or not I should work with this over just a word doc next fall.

i used it throughout my undergraduate career (minus freshman yr) and found it invaluable (i was not a natural science major, so i took my small laptop to virtually every class i could and typed my notes)

onenote lets you create folders from the first page, so i usually created 1 folder per semester of school

then within each folder, i could create section tabs -- i did 1 section per class i was taking that semester

then on the sides for each class section you could have another set of tabs, which would be my individual lectures

it autosaves and the bullets and whatnot are easier to organize and edit than say in word; tabs are of course all self-titled

you could even make figures and draw, tho i mean that is kind of hard to do on a mouse track pad or even w/ a mouse

highlighting, etc. all available, and i didnt even use all the functions onenote had to offer, just the basics

i loved the program and would 100% choose it over word, i dont see a single reason why word would be superior

I have OneNote on my computer and I have used it for a few of my classes just to get a feel for it, since it comes so highly recommended for law school.

I like it, but I don't love it. I really haven't used it much though, so I may still have to get used to it. The organization of everything though is fantastic. I also love the screenshot feature.

Do you use the seach feature? Man, I love being able to search for crappy I wrote 2 years about. And tag searches, links to outlook tasks and appointments.
