Top Law Schools

I have to admit my primary reason is #3. Though there are many factors that contribute to me wanting to go, if I could get a good entry-level job in my field I'd probably take it. I keep hearing that you shouldn't go unless you're reason is #1. Or #2 possibly if you're at a Top 14. Well, I'm just hoping to get a pretty good score on the LSAT so I can somewhat justify going (next cycle).

All four answers apply to me. I love the power and influence that comes with being an attorney, and the law fascinates me. The prospect of having financial security is nice. Extreme wealth may/may not happen, but it's a good living for sure. And, is there a better time to go to law school than now, when the economy is so bleak? To me, that's just good sense. But if I were right out of school, I would be trying to work now instead.

Dreamt of being one since I was a kid.

I'm interested in law, I think I'd be good at it, I think I'd enjoy it.

Give me three years and I'll let you know. Definitely wouldn't want to be graduating right now. Applying isn't so hot either.

Nevermind not going.

Models and bottles money...nah, just for the portability & versatility of the degree, to add a prestigious school/degree to my resume and the fact that at worst I would make a great slip n' fall or med mal. lawyer.

2002-2006.....at my LS People in the bottom 10% got vault50 firm jobs...makes me sick

I would second this, my primary reason is intellectual curiosity. The second is employment and upward mobility.

Don't feel like prostitution and my teeth aren't straight enough/boobs aren't big enough for stripping anywhere decent.

But seriously, I'm fascinated by the law, how at works, and the times when it doesn't seem to so much. I don't really care about the money, so long as I'm making more than my parents do (which wouldn't be hard even with just my undergrad degree). And if I don't go, I really have no idea what else to do at this point. Nothing else really interests me.

IP law. I'm more of a generalist, so the interdisciplinary nature of it appeals to me.

The world is also increasingly competitive. JDs may be flooding the market, but so are PhDs. Having both is still a relatively uncommon commodity.

to learn the systems that govern us everyday. and be able to make some contribution to its improvement. maybe.

Career ambitions. The people who represent the United States at international environmental treaty negotiations are lawyers, not academics. Hence the change from PhD program to law school.

Need to in order to break into the field I want. All the other stuff is added bonus.

life-long dream and I find the law quite fascinating.
