Top Law Schools

I love the city of Boston and would love to live and practice there someday. I am not sure yet what type of law I want to go into. I was sadly rejected from Boston University and Boston College primarily because of a low LSAT score (160). It looks like my choices now will be Villanova, Penn State, The Ohio State. Do any of these schools give me a chance to work in Boston? I also have the option of Northeastern, but do not really want to go to such a low ranked school with no grades and all.

i don't think rankings matter that much, and especially when you're comparing these schools with each other...you should go where you want to practice.

The only hedge I would say on the above would be that osu is solidly t1, and if you go there and do well, it might be a bit easier to transfer to bu/bc. But choose where you would be happy practicing is best, and then try and do well and transfer if you want.

i agree with this.
i also have to add that if you just wanted to go to the school that provided the best chances of a decent job, a school like ohio state should be picked over northeastern. but your preference for boston makes it a harder, more complicated decision.

I do tend to agree with the above posters...but wonder if this scenario may also be true...

The only other insight I might have...is that there are quite a few Boston firms with offices in Philly. Not sure how many Cleveland or Cincinnati firms are in Boston. You may be able to summer at the Philly office and then use that experience to apply for a position in the Boston office of the firm.

I know Villanova tends to have more reach into NYC than PSU does and definitely has more reach in Philly...so perhaps it would also fair better into Boston??

EDIT - I use way too many ellipses when I write.

i would go to northeastern. some on these forums doubt that even BU/BC can travel nationally, and if a T20-25 school has issues....

not to mention that while northeastern has a lower rank, it does have a coop program. you can be assured you will get some kind of legal experience during your time there.
