Political science or marketing:
Which degree is it easier to get a good GPA in? In other words, which one requires less work?

Why not get a degree where you can get a job after undergrad?

I'm planning on attending law school right after college.

There will be a lot of 10 page papers in any degree you take. Are you in high school still?

depends on the school
Do students that apply to your university do so to get into the poly sci department? If so, marketing.
Do students that apply to your university do so to enter the business school? If so, poly sci.

It seems poli sci depends on the school. Some people consider it a very easy major, while other less so. As an International Relations major, I take a fair number of poli sci classes, and in my experience there are only about 1-2 A's per class and mostly B's or C's (classes average 20 people).
The best answer to this will probably come from people at your college who know these departments well. I think in general, poli sci does more research papers, while marketing tends towards presentations and group projects (though these may put you at the mercy of slackers).
In any case, since you're (probably) paying thousands of dollars for an undergrad education, you should probably major in something you like. It's much easier to get good grades if you're engaged in your classes and motivated to learn.

more like 5-6 pagers
poli sci is more centered, while marketing involves linguistics, sociology, and even business

Otherwise, anything in Communications. Way easy.

So neither?
Actually my company is hiring E-marketing people left and right. It pays shitty but if you are good you earn some money.

Both are easy enough that with small effort you can do well. Which interests you more. Because its easier to go to classes you somewhat like.

What school did you go to where most of your papers were 5-6 pages? Didn't you have term papers or a thesis or anything?
OP - I was international relations (close enough to PoliSci) and my term papers averaged 15-20 pages. I don't know if you are planning to do a thesis, but that's at least 60 pages. But if you're annoyed with the thought of having to write 10 page papers, I would steer clear of the legal profession. All you do is write.

I'm a PS/International Relations major at a UC
term papers or research papers were around 10 pages, but those were only assigned maybe once a year, most other papers were 5-6 pages

I like writing. It's just that I'm looking for a good GDA, obviously. And when you have to write, you're at the whim of a professor who might not like your writing.

Because of the distinct differences in undergrad programs the answers that are being given should be taken with a grain of salt. Poli sci is a cakewalk at my undergrad but it's not just becuase it was easy, it's becuase I was genuinely interested in the subject. I say just take the major that interests you the most or that your really good at...your more liable to do well in that major than the one that's "easier".

If the idea of 10 page papers scares you, you're going to hate law school. Your final exams will end up in the 20 page range, except you'll have 3 hours for each and 3-4 of them in a period of 2 weeks. And that's if you don't have a paper in the class!
HTH.

I love timed writing but can't stand long term writing. I really hate that NU has graded LRW.
