Top Law Schools

Was just wondering if anybody has opinions on the best E&E books or hornbooks. I have a lot of free time before law school and want to do my best to start wrapping my head around the law covered in first year classes and also start the process of thinking critically about cases before school starts. Thanks!!

What I have discerned from this forum is that many wish they did not wrap themselves up in coursework prior to law school. There are a few books repeatedly mentioned, however, such as Getting to Maybe.

Ya I think we have probably read some of the same posts. To be perfectly honest though I would rather spend my free time reading over material that may or may not make me a more competent law student then sit around between now and the start of the semester and then regret not having done more to prepare myself for school. Chances are it wont pay off as much as im hoping but i would be happy with just a little bit of return from spending the time doing.

I used the E&E for torts, civil procedure, and contracts. I liked all three.

so are there multiple authors for the E&Es and hornbooks or is it generally just one set of authors for each subject matter?
