How did you get a sense of the the various career paths related to law? And if you've settled on one, what resources helped you make the decision? I've got a vague handle on what seem like basic categories...corporate/biglaw, public interest...but I'm struggling to understand them in a day-to-day, experiential sense.

Make friends with a lawyer or two that are in the fields you are especially interested in. Ask if you can shadow them for a day- that will give you some idea of the day to day paperwork.
