When can I expect to get a decision from law schools?

Applied towards the end of Dec.
I see that those applying in Oct hear back 60 days later. Is this the case for late Dec applicants?

I submitted 12 apps on 12/18 - 12/19 last year.
January: 1 accept (from my safety)
February: 4 accepts, 2 waitlists
March: 1 waitlist, 1 hold
April: 2 rejections from schools I had no real chance at, 1 waitlist

it really depends on the school. I got most of my decisions in February. Columbia in late January. Harvard pwn on April Fools Day.

This. I submitted my first set of apps on 12/14 & already got an acceptance yesterday. This turn-around seems to be really weird & rare though- I don't really expect to hear back even from any of my safeties til the end of Jan at the very earliest

Later than March isn't the norm... except for Harvard, because Harvard's a douche.

NYU is also notoriously slow.

+1. I forgot about NYU because I withdrew in April after not hearing from them.

That fits with what I was thinking. For that accept you received in Jan, did they allow you enough time to decide while you were waiting on the other schools to get back with you?

Check
http://lawschoolnumbers.com, and go to the schools you applied to, and check when the previous years applicants received their decisions

That particular school did. Most deposit deadlines won't be until April, but if you get scholarships, you might have to decide earlier.

You might have guessed from the above, but Columbia is unusually fast. Harvard and NYU take their sweet time. (Personally, I think Columbia is fast because they want to convince people who want to be in NYC to withdraw their NYU applications before NYU accepts them. The competitiveness between the two is huge.)
