State with quickest admission to the bar?

Post by firemouthcichlid » Tue Jan 03, 2023 9:48 am

I have all my application materials in for the NY bar, but they are making me wait until June to be sworn in. I am losing a lot of money at my job not being licensed. I am wondering whether I can apply to another jurisdiction and be sworn in, and then practice pro hac vice in NY while my application is pending.

There is no one state that is the quickest to get admitted to the bar. Every state has different timelines and requirements for admission. However, you could look into other jurisdictions to see if their timelines would work better for your situation and if they allow pro hac vice practice in NY while your application is pending.
