The California state bar alleges that approximately 3,000 of the October online bar examinees engaged in behavior that indicates cheating, according to video recordings that identified behavior associated with dishonest test-taking. Those behaviors include averted eye contact with the screen, audio problems, and absence from the camera's view.

Many recipients of the notice are unsure how to proceed as it relates to defending their exam integrity. How do you prove that your gaze was harmless, or that your audio had legitimate technical problems? Have you received one of these notices? Share your thoughts below.

I read on an article a week ago that many people flagged have hired an attorney who specializes in defending people against the Bar.

It seems like a tricky process to handle without someone representing you.

I think for the sake of PR many of the cases will be dropped. Especially after they attorneys get the Bar to clarify more of what is and isn't acceptable. But then again it's hard to judge because no one except the Bar has seen the videos.

At worst, many people will have a mark on their record and they'll have to retake the exam again at a later date.
