Possible to waive in a different state if I pass the PA bar exam

My manager who is licensed attorney said since I missed the UBE deadline for this fall, to sit for the PA Bar Exam being it’s not far from NYC and you can waive in NY or NJ after 5 years of having an active PA license? I just wanted to know if anyone on here has experience doing this and waiving in a UBE jurisdiction afterwards by just keeping an active license.
Of course, getting admitted also opens up other opportunities that accept candidates that “have an active license in any US jx” that I see on plenty of job postings.
Lastly, my MBE from the last UBE was around 130 and I have the old UBE NY Barbri books but I need to just study for the PA MEE and PT sections for the most part. Any recommendations for this, I’d sincerely appreciate it. Be well!
