Figured it was time for a consolidated thread as states start to figure this out.

California: The California Bar--in keeping with California's Code of Civil Procedure--has provided an extremely convoluted recommendation to their Supreme Court. It currently sounds like they're recommending a provisional certification program (an extension of supervised practice), but only if they're not able to hold the bar exam in September, either online or in-person. (Recommendation Letter)

Indiana: Indiana granted "graduate legal intern" status to the class of 2020, effective through February 28, 2021 (or until bar results are released if the graduate sits for the February 2021 bar exam). (Order)

New Jersey: NJ has announced that it will extend temporary practice privileges (under supervision) to 2020 grads, provided that they sign up for the first available bar exam. (Order)

Utah: The Utah Bar has recommended a modified diploma privilege to 2019/2020 grads who applied for admission to the Utah bar on or before April 1, 2020. To be eligible for the diploma privilege, an applicant must have graduated from an ABA-approved law school with at least an 86% first-time bar passage rate. Eligible applicants must complete 360 hours of supervised practice and pass C&F before being admitted. (Proposed Order)

New York has been the 1st state to officially postpone their bar exam, with Massachusetts, Connecticut and Hawaii have followed suit. As of now California still hasn't made a decision.

The NCBE has announced 2 dates in the fall when law grads can take the bar. September 9 & 10 and the Second one being September 30th and October 1st.

NY has changed the details of their September administration to say they won't be able to meet all of the demand on those dates, and will be "required to prioritize groups of candidates and expects to announce a staggered schedule." Some exams will be administered on campuses. https://www.nybarexam.org

At this point, I'm assuming that everyone is delaying the exam, so I'm trying to keep the OP limited to describing state measures for allowing grads to practice in the interim (if they're taking any). Does anyone know if NY's supervised practice provisions already cover this situation? Or should we expect a follow-up order?

The New York Court system has stated (Apr. 9) its working group is considering expanding practice orders, but it is unclear what the scope they are considering is. I would expect a later order about the full effect of them, including what is meant by "limited practice of law."

Thanks, I'll keep an eye out for that to change (sounds like what DC will be doing as well).
