hi, everyone, as to the mental disease, there are several standards, and please see the two below:
a. MPC: mental disease lacks substantial capacity that 1) appreciate the criminality 2) can not conform to law
b. M Naghten: mental disease 1) does not know the nature of the conduct or 2) does not know the wrong of the conduct
I really don't know the difference between the two, one is not appreciate the criminality and can not conform to the law and the other is does not know the wrong of the conduct, it seems the same meaning to me, so what is the difference? could you please help me? Thanks
