Hi All,

Anyone taking the MPRE on November 10th, 2018?

What is your method od preparation? Have you started studying yet?

I’m talking the exam in Nov. I was going to take it in August but missed the deadline and didn’t want to shell out an extra $100.

I am using Themis as my MPRE prep. I really think it helps. The outline, lectures and PQs are good. Themis recommends starting Oct. 27-Nov 9 (2 weeks). Seems like to some that’s over kill, but I rather be over prepared than underprepared.

The MPRE can be intuitive I think. Hence why some people can pass with relative ease. But it’s nice to reinforce the understanding. Because otherwise , before Themis, I was second guessing myself.

Taking in MPRE in November 2018 and haven't started studying. Plan to do free online Kaplan course. figure I'll do 4 hours on Saturday and then figure out my study schedule from there. Haven't taken Professional Responsibility yet. Should I be putting in more time?

Yup, taking the Nov. MPRE. Also using Themis.

I have taken the Professional Responsibility class, but I don't think that really prepared me well (and I even made an A).

Ive been using Barbri's outline, AMP MCQ, and lectures etc. I started studying a couple weeks again and definitely think it was overkill. This exam shouldn't need that much studying. I regret it now, because I can't look at anything without second guessing myself. So I would think you should be okay with your study plan.

I graduated at the bottom of my class in law school and passed the MPRE...twice (92, 106). I had to take it twice since I wanted to practice in two jurisdictions and my first score "expired", which was bullshit.

Do some practice Kaplan problems and you'll be ok.

Currently in a PR class. I'm using Themis, half-ass read the outline for a couple hours and watched the lectures. Read some explanations from some questions. Probably 10 hours outside class efforts so far. Just got slightly above a passing score on a half-length practice exam. Hopefully, I can just cruise from here.

If you happen to have a Quimbee membership, their MPRE materials are very good. They actually give you a calendar with a checklist of videos/quizzes to do each day for the week leading up to the test. It's a fair amount of material for each day on top of law school stuff (~2 hours/day maybe), though, so I started earlier this week.

One thing I like about the Quimbee system is that they give you a diagnostic right at the beginning. My score would have been passing, but just barely. Starting two weeks out is probably overkill, but I really don't want to have to take this again.

So after having taken the test, how do you guys feel about it? Easier/harder than you thought? Or just unsure.

I think I passed. All the practice tests I’ve taken were all 68% raw score and up, which is roughly 100 or more MPRE score. Hopefully that translates well enough with the actual exam.

I don't know whether I passed, and I couldn't care less. I'm 3Loling hard right now. Probably too hard.

I thought it was pretty hard (or at least harder than I expected given how dismissive people are about it). But, given that ~60% (basically a D-) is a passing grade, it's bound to not feel great, even if you're doing well.

Check your NCBE file cabinet. I believe an email comes out eventually, but the score is there to check now if you would like.
