It was a PDF letter. I’ve heard in the past that they only send this letter if you passed, but it’s only been 2 weeks since we took the test. I’m assuming then that everyone got this?
It does make sense to send a letter to everyone who received a certain MBE score (since MBE scores are easily graded)

Never got an e-mail.

I also didn’t get an email.

I also got the email today. It had the login info for the video course as well as the supplement registration requirements.

got it too. but does it even mean anything?

I haven’t done the NYLE yet, maybe that’s why I haven’t got it?

I’ve taken this exam more than I want to count but if it’s any clarity I’ve only received this email when I have taken the July exams. Hope this helps.

I didn't get one.

I think it may have only gone out to people in certain divisions

I have done the NYLE and did not get the email. OP and others who received the email, can you give a little more detail on its contents?

Could you provide more detail on the circumstances when you did receive the email? Did you end up passing and/or having a high MBE score?

Lol OP has everyone freaked out. I highly doubt that NCBE has graded every MBE across the country and returned the results to all the states in less than two weeks.

I got the same email,too. It’s sent out by nybarexam administration and the topic is: on behalf of the Second Judicial Department.
The mail contents a pdf which indicates the process of application for admission to NY state bar. In the first paragraph, it said that they got info from the Board of Law Examiners that I passed the bar exam.
Is this some kind of joke, prank or mistake? It seems impossible that the score could be available just two weeks after the exam. I am pissed and also worried.
BTW, I haven’t take NYLE.

Confirming: SECOND Judicial Department

Did everyone who get the email assigned to the 2nd judicial department?

I’m out of state which would I assume put me in the 3rd judicial department.

I’m also out of state and did not get an email

On a related note, how do you know to which judicial department you will be assigned? And what is the significance, if any?

Yeah, this same letter went out last year and freaked people out, and it doesn’t mean you passed or didn’t pass or anything. It means that if/when they do find out you passed and they certify you, you can apply for admission. There’s no rhyme or reason as to why you received it now and some people haven’t got it yet (unless it’s test center or other geography, but nothing to do with your score).

it actually doesn't say that. it says when you do get the notification of passing... etc.

Oh yeah~ I reread it again. thanks for clarifying that for me.
I would just ignore the mail until got the result of the exam.

Did not pass and mbe scores were below 122

I received the same letter, albeit for the First Department.

Key language from the letter that should stop anyone from freaking out: "If you pass the Uniform Bar Exam, the New York Law Exam and the M.P.R.E., the Board will then officially certify you for admission to one of the four Judicial Departments in the State, based upon your address."

This letter is completely unrelated to actual bar passage; just tied to address on record.

"I've heard they only send this letter if you passed" is definitely not something those of us who havent received it want to hear only 2 weeks into this waiting game lol. OP are you sure about this? Can anyone else reading on here who has knowledge about how this has worked in the past give us some insight? I'm an out-of-state applicant so I guess I'd be the Third Department.
