I didn't find a post for Kaplan practice test score comparison to Actual MBE score. My jurisdiction hasn't released the results yet but I got a 124/200 on the midterm and 137/200 on the final practice test. I supplemented my practice with a Adaptibar and was scoring in the 65% range. To those who have passed and used Kaplan, can you please share your score details? I found the AM session hard and felt like a lot of questions on the AM set were not like the ones I had practiced. But that's my opinion and others can share their success stories here. Thank you all.

You had much better score than me. You should pass the bar easily. I got 100 in mid-term and 98 in the final practice test. My actual MBE score came out to be 142. After I bombed Kaplan final, I also did some real MBE questions. I was not very well prepared when I took the Kaplan mid-term and final. I needed time to synthesize all the course outlines which I did after the Kaplan final. The morning session was definitely hard for me as well. I could complete only 94 questions and randomly bubbled remaining 6 questions. The afternoon session, as you must have observed, was much easier and I completed that within 2.5 hrs. I used the remaining 30 minutes to review the answers.

Wow! Good job!! This gives me some confidence. Thank you You're right about the afternoon session. I found that much easier than the AM session for sure. This was my second attempt at the bar so I am hoping for a miracle. Multiple choice has never been my strength so I made sure I focused on MBE more this time. Joe can naturally speak for himself, but I dont believe he runs metrics and numbers for BarBri and Kaplan (or any other program).

Based on the scoring outlined from Kaplan and Adaptibar it appears you are comfortably scoring around 65%, such a score based on historical statistics would put you slightly above average for the exam (assuming your % correct carries through to the scored questions) I would think your floor is somewhere around the national average (139/140-ish) and you would likely score somewhere around 142 based purely on your numbers, naturally you could have scored higher/lower on the real thing - without knowing your state scoring system I cant provide much help, but if you are in a 50/50 scoring state you should be sitting pretty assuming your essays are within the same range as your MBE.

The next question would be what your cut score is, if it is Michigan ( a state I passed in and have a friend waiting for results) the cut score is 270. Based on the numbers I am looking at for you I would think you would need to score a 130 to pass (I am choosing to be conservative and place your MBE at 140, should you score the predicted 142 you technically only would need a 128 on the essays). A 130 (or 128) would be a particularly low achieving score - meaning you should be feeling pretty good about your chances.

Actual MBE score was 168.

*Disclaimer - This was my second bar exam. Passed my home state Bar in July using Barbri. My state doesn't release scores (annoying), but I know I scored over 150.

I did feel the MBE was tougher this time around. There were numerous questions on less-often tested areas. I finished both sections with about 20 minutes to spare, whereas in July I finished the PM section with over an hour remaining.

Thank you for sharing your scores with me. I hope my practice test scores reflect on the actual exam. My results are two weeks away but I'm praying continuously that I get high MBe scores like you all. Thank you giving me confidence
