Hello all,

I was just wondering if anyone taking the GA bar knows what essay topics are being predicted?

Checking in too. Not using a bar-prep program - does anyone have a recommendation for state-law materials?

Finally got my C&F certification at least. So I guess I really have to take this thing.

A combination of saving money and not having the time to sit through Barbri lectures again (graduated in 15 and am barred elsewhere).

For the benefit of any GA lurkers, I ended up buying a couple state-law books on Amazon from Celebration Bar Prep. Will let y'all know my thoughts.

We must've been in the same C&F batch. Got mine too - now we get the privilege of shelling out another $600ish for the bar and a laptop fee. Ugh.

Anyone hear anything on essay topics?

It looks like Commercial Paper and Secured Transactions haven't been tested on the essays in like 10 years. So probably not those, right?

Where are you seeing that? I just scanned last Feb's essays and I didn't see either. Looks like Torts, Evidence, Civ Pro, and Wills.

CP was part of a Contracts question on Feb. 2015. That's the only time it's been tested in ages. ST hasn't been tested since 2010. But if you are worried, check out Tanicius' guides (stickied). The Secured one in particular is very helpful.

What was tested in Feb 2017 was Torts - Damages/Defenses, Corporations - Formation/Non-Profit, Con. Law Establishment Clause/Free Exercise, Trusts....with one Professional Responsibility question

I'm starting to think about the July 2018 GA Bar. Is there a reason I shouldn't use Themis over Barbri for the GA exam? (Cost isn't a factor.)

Has anyone else received the survey from the GA Bar yet? Spooked me out hardcore. Is that indicative of anything does anyone know?

I got it too, but I don't think these things ever mean anything re: passing or failing.

I also got it...scared me too! I can't imagine it means anything though...right???

So I talked to someone. She got the survey when she failed her first time and passed her third time.
