I was wondering how porting a UBE score works if the state was not UBE when you sat for the bar, but becomes UBE at some point after you pass the UBE for your first jurisdiction? Specifically, let's say state A is currently UBE and state B is not. State B allows you to waive in, however, after 5 years of practice in good standing in another jurisdiction.

What if state B switches to UBE a year or two after you pass the UBE for state A? Can you then port your score from state A to state B (obv assuming it is also passing for state B's UBE required score)?

I believe it depends on the state.

Oregon, even though it recently adopted the UBE and is planning to begin administering it in July 2017, will not accept UBE scores earned prior to its own first administration of the UBE. So if you passed the UBE before July 2017 in another state, it looks like you may be out of luck for Oregon. Also, I believe all UBE states have an expiration date on transferring UBE scores, most only accept scores up to around 3 years. Check the maximum age for UBE scores by state here: http://www.ncbex.org/exams/ube/
