Hi guys,

for those who are taking the bar in Albany or have previously in the past, do you know the best place to study around the area?
I rented a place through airbnb and will be arriving 4 days prior to the exam but I don't think i'll be staying home to study. I've looked through google map for starbucks and other coffee shops but I am wondering if there are any places that is closer to the exam site.

any info appreciated.

Thanks!

Empire State Plaza itself has a food court (with an Au Bon Pain), a Dunkin Donuts, and ample seating area. Not really sure about tables though. It's a huge building and the parking is pretty cheap ($5-$10) if you need to drive.

No.

Didn't have any wifi last year. Maybe it changed tho.

I uploaded my essays at my hotel room. It worked perfectly.

Went to college in Albany. Not sure where you hotel is, but the City Beer Hall is a great time, as well as the Pearl Street Pub. Both are very close to the test center.

Heading a little bit more uptown, I recommend either Washington Tavern, Lark Tavern, or the Lion Heart pub. Also, Bombers Burrito Bar has great burritos (hence the name) and has karaoke/$6 margaritas every Wednesday night. Even if karaoke isn't your thing, it's a great time.

If I wasn't heading home right after the exam I'd be bar hopping from 5PM on...

I can't believe we can't visit the exam site prior to the exam. I wanted to see where it was located but didn't want to risk of any violations....
Heard they have a good Vietnamese restaurant right in front of the exam site. I wanted to eat there today but didn't want to look like I was visiting the exam site... so I didn't go..

I'm extremely overreacting right now

So will you guys upload MEE/MPT essays AFTER you get back to the hotel? We can't upload them on site?

Not that familiar with Empire State Plaza parking. Are there ample spots? Or should I leave a little bit earlier to ensure I get one?

Give yourself extra time, otherwise you're arriving when all the Plaza employees are getting there.

There are a couple of lots you can use that are a mixture of spots for permit holders and visitor parking. They fill up during business hours, but it's way easier to leave at the end of the day. You pay in the morning, so there's no waiting behind all the other examiners when they pay to leave (like it is in the underground plaza parking). I know there's a lot by the museum and another by the church on the same street (both on the backside of the plaza).

Yeah, I was told by the people at my hotel to go to the Visitor's lot. Hopefully this won't be too much of an issue in the morning...

Where will you guys have lunch? Will you guys bring lunch or buy from the food court or nearby restaurants?

We can review the outline during lunch, right?

How many people approximately took the test in Albany in recent years?

Sigh. I spent so much time on Civ Pro.

Hopefully we see some hard Civ Pro questions tomorrow.

The essays were generally okay, nothing stood out as really difficult.

MPT was more difficult IMO. I think the Facts/Conclusion one was about following instructions. I did not finish strong on that one.

Was I stupid or the professionalism mpt just had no enough facts given? It was full of rules only....

facts were short, but i thought there was enough to do a full analysis for each issue.

The second part of the family law essay? Do you mean question 2 or question 3?
