Hi, all wise people.

Tier 1 law school graduate in May 2017. No job offer. Sincerely asking for advice on which state bar to take.

1) foreign undergrad background (specifically Asia)

2) Went to a top tier texas law school for LLM and JD from another state. Should be graduating cum laude, given no B in either of two classes this semester.

3) Past experience in Texas and have some ties in Texas.

4) try to position myself internationally and interested in corporate and transactional practice.

Which bar to take, TX, NY or Cali. Input, guidance or critics are all welcome.

New York. It's the UBE and easier to gain international connections in that market.

I recently spoke with an attorney in the Hong Kong office of a major U.S. firm, and she also said that New York was the most in-demand bar admission in SE Asia.

NY Bar. US associates are very much in demand where I'm from (Singapore) and in the region. Even UK firms (Magic or silver circle firms) in the region need NY qualified lawyers.
