Hello,

I was hoping re-takers who re-took the exam more than once could chime in on 1) how many times they took it and when, and 2) what their scores were for each time. This would be helpful to see how much progress you guys made/expected in between exam administrations. Thanks!

It seems like you're in a retake situation. Which is fine, but I'm not sure how the majority of the information you're asking for is going to help you.

I dont say this with any shade, but if you're retaking you only have like 2 months to study. And that includes all of the holiday stuff most people have to do.

I realize that no one can study all day, but your posts make it sound like you are more in the planning phases. You need to be actively studying right now, not trying to figure out test scores for multiple retakers unless that information will directly help you, and I don't see how it can.

I realize that Barbri may officially start late December. But I also think that as a retaker, who pass at a lower rate IIRC, you should study as much as you can.

I want to reiterate rcharter's advice. I had friends who scored over 1400 the first time and still didn't pass the second. I had another friend who scored 1340 the first time and pass the second. I think the rationale is to look for some sort of security. If this person did xyz then I should do that, or this is sufficient to pass.

It isn't.

What you need to do is be honest with yourself, with your abilities, and your work ethic. Figure out what it is you need to do, then do your best to get it done. Even then, you might not pass. But what else can you do? No one walks out thinking they owned the exam. But it's the work you do RIGHT NOW that will determine whether you see red or green on results day. I am solidly convinced that the amount of work I put in the first 4 weeks is what got me passed the mark - the last half of prep was more or less maintaining. Start strong, finish strong. Write essays and do MBE questions every day. Allow 10 minutes for reddit/TLS whatever, but spend the rest of the time working. Otherwise, you'll be here again in May asking the same things. Good luck.
