How much is ExamSoft to take the bar in NY?

Is it better to use Examsoft or just write by hand?

I've heard things that Examsoft didn't work in the past...not sure what to do...I'm planning on the February 2017 exam

I don't know any sane person who would hand write the bar. Like maybe 1-2% of bar takers at the two administrations I sat wrote by hand.

I wrote the bar exam by hand in Florida and passed with flying colors. It can be done just fine.

If you do decide to write it by hand, I would suggest taking a look at some of the high passing answers on baressays that were written by hand. The writing seems very streamlined - namely, just the element underlined, the rule and the facts associated with that issue/rule. Also good to look at in case your computer takes a dump in the middle and you have to write it out in the middle of the exam.

I have a friend who is a foreign lawyer, as well. She took Themis and hand wrote the exam last July and passed.

And in my testing location, they all sat right in front of the restrooms....worst.
