Hey everyone, i'm retaking July 2016 UBE New York. Will partly use Themis; figured that since it covers the retake I may as well. Didn't help me master essays or the MPT at all despite doing all their assigned essays which I was new at (i'm a french trained lawyer and it's a very different system)! Wondering if any of the bar review providers (e.g. Barmax,Barbri) are better at MEE and MPT techniques? Preferably giving students very good feedback to improve with as well?

Also, anyone know of any blogs/sites with model essay answers for the MEE and MPT?

Thanks!

Stay strong

I strongly suggest you to buy used barbri essay book. I think you can get an used barbri set for $250-300. Not sure if someone sells them separately. Set is anyways worth it. The barbri essay book gives a breakdown of the score for the essays. This would help you understand how much to write on an essay. Go for barbri.

THE NCBE has model answers available for both the MEE and the MPT. Some of the older tests are free, but for the newer ones they do charge for access. When it comes to reading model answers, though, these are extremely helpful as they will allow you to see exactly what those who will be grading your exam deem to be a model answer.

Buy prior MPT tests on ncbex.org. They have point sheets, learn them, analyze and it is really helpful. Make chart of what difficult and not difficult, find out why you missed and you would be fine. I know that I was.
Use Barbri or whatever product you have only for additional practice. You can use Barbri method for reading memo-CALL DRT (client, audience, legal problem, limiting instructions, document, research and tone) but it is just guidance, your main guideline is MPT Point Sheets from prior exams.
