How do you start off? Do you give them a price you're willing to pay? Or do you ask whether they're willing to go down in price and stay vague?

Any tips on negotiating?

I got BarBri to cut $1,500 off their price by mentioning I was going into public service. However, that was still out of my budget. I told them to take off another 1K or I would go with Themis. They were essentially like "that's a mistake, we are better." So I went with Themis for just a little over 1K. I was willing to pay about $2,200 for BarBri but they wouldn't reduce the price more.

I used Kaplan for this past bar for $1595 (am alumni now - this is 2nd bar)- was a special, and seemed reasonable. I called my schools Barbri rep and tried to get Barbri close to that price and she stated that since I was alumni, she could cut the price to $2200, which was still much too high for me this time around. So I am not sure how much Barbri is willing to negotiate.
