Average Adapti bar score

I have done about 200 question and my adaptibar score is 61%. My overall average Themis MBE score is 57%, for all individuall MBE PQ's that I have done.

What should be the ideal score point on both adaptibar and themis to be well prepared for the bar.

I am a repeater here. Took feb 2015 NY bar and failed by 5 points. Want to make sure that I get it right this time.

Let me know your thoughts

Thanks

FWIW, my average score is 67% after 78 questions, mostly pulled down by a 35% in Civ Pro. I'm interested in knowing what the right target for these are supposed to be too.

I personally started off around 60% on the first 200 questions or so before i reviewed any material.

Then between 200-600 was hovering around 50%. I did the questions as I reviewed each subject. Took about 3 weeks to review all MBE subjects.

Yes, it was really frustrating to actually be doing WORSE after the review of the questions.

But then around 700 question mark a breakthrough happened.

I average around 70% now on Adaptibar, with about 20 questions a day complete.

I also do the Themis questions, but really only get around 60% there on all the subjects.

My take is Themis is a little harder to maintain a consistent score because they can cover some really intricate details of the law that you will find only in the corners of an outline.

The moral of the story is there is no substitute for just putting in the required work and dedication.

I would do atleast 50 MBE questions per day for now on!

Oh, and to answer OP's question,

I would say getting 65% or very near consistently on Adaptibar on all subjects is a reasonable goal.

Getting 75% on Adaptibar consistently on a question set of atleast 50 questions mixed subject is not realistic, unless you are already getting that of course.
Or said another way,
If you can get around 75% on Adaptibar in one sitting of at least 100 questions on all subjects,...you will have nothing to worry about come test day- because you will be on track to be top 10% MBE score territory---which is autopass territory.

Thats just my opinion.

I'm at 68% after 705 questions, without Civ Pro (using Barbri and PMBR for Civ Pro).

Adaptibar claims that you should aim for 70%. I don't know where you are taking the MBE but 70% raw would be passing with ease in Florida.

My experience is the same as yours... Started doing adaptibar back in late October after NY results came out. Averaged about 55% for that first month (10/29-11/29), which really brought down my overall average, but hey, progress would be made. Started doing questions for all MBE subjects about halfway through the first month. Next month (11/29-12/29) I averaged 66%. From 12/29-Today having done 500 questions in that time (since it hasn't been a full month yet), I'm averaging 79.2%. At this point in the game, I try to get through 30 Adaptibar questions a day, and then whatever BARBRI assigns.

Point is, OP, you can do this... Leverage the support system you have here. It's more beneficial than people really give it credit for.

Glad someone started this thread!

I am averaging 55% having done 400 questions - shall I be worried at this stage?! :( :(

I finished all 1730 questions at 59%, now at 2200 (second round), I barely make 62%. Kind of sad.

My average is 69.7% but the thing is :

-I'm a retaker and I took Adaptibar last time so it happened to me to remember some of the questions. Plus, I also use the emmanuel S&T books and some of the questions are the same.

-I haven't done a single civ pro question ....

I'm over 1 000 questions answered on adaptibar now.

However, when I took the bar last july, i remember having answered probably 1000 questions but I was in a rush and was doing 100 questions a day and I wasn't really paying attention to the explanations.

So the best advice is : do a tons of questions and read the explanations. And make a rules outline.

I read elsewhere that the questions furnished by Kaplan or Themis are harder so i dont think you need to worry if you score 60% average.

Yea I would ease up on actually doing a large number of questions per day, and actually go back to the 2200 I finished and try and notice a pattern of common mistakes, then correct them. Then do the questions again with a goal of getting the overall average near the national average.

+1, doing 1500 questions with a full understanding of each questions is much more efficient than 3 000 questions and not paying attention.

This is what I had as of this morning with Adaptibar sending a message, "You have now answered 1400 questions. We recommend you stop answering questions and review your performance."

Overall Average 56% 53.4% 66.3% 73.1%
Civil Procedure 49% 38.2% 0% 100%
Constitutional Law 64% 50% 74.5% 83%
Contracts 54% 48.5% 67.1% 70.8%
Criminal Law 60% 58.5% 73.6% 68.9%
Evidence 72.5% 53.8% 52.8% 74.6%
Real Property 44% 55.6% 66.7% 70%
Torts 48% 61.8% 62.5% 73.7%

However, i started on November 13th,..dedicating 80% of my time on it. Finally getting into the essays!

Quick question to anyone who took and passed July after using Adaptibar? Did you see many, if any repeated questions or fact patterns on the real day?

I used Adaptibar twice, both for Feb 2015 and July 2015. I don't think I saw repeated fact patterns, but they can only test you but so many ways for an issue of law. So after a while I knew the common traps I constantly feel in, and how to quickly eliminate the two wrong answers.

I failed but I remember answering two really easy questions that were very closes from the ones on Adaptibar : one was about the supremacy clause and the other about the full faith & credit clause.

But nop, I don't remember any similar fact pattern.

But IMO, if you do 10 questions about Assignment on Adaptibar and that you understand fully the issues, you'll do well on the D-day about any questions related to assignment.

Mine is 64% with 1400 questions answered.

But I didn't really start recognizing patterns until around my 800th question. Since then my average has been steadily increasing. For the most recent 300 questions, all my sessions have been in the 70% to 75% accuracy range. I'm happy about that, but still apprehensive overall.

There's some Adaptibar questions with a 14% or lower success rate. I remember one Civ Pro question about diversity jurisdiction that also included an interpleader issue with amount in controversy at $60,000. Correct answer was good diversity jurisdiction because the interpleader issue only required $500+ in controversy. I wonder if that was an actual MBE question.

Oh here's another ultra-technical question...I think it has a 9% accuracy rate. It was about whether a right to a jury trial existed in cases where the only remedy sought was ejectment. Answer was yes, because ejectment was a recognized remedy in 1791

I guess you are right, I should go back to see my mistakes. My everyday average is not bad though, between 65-72%, above overall national average which is 60.8% now.
It is mostly CivPro (overall 51%) and RP (overall 56%) that brings my average down. RP has always been my weakest subject, but I don't know what is wrong with these CivPro questions. Or me.

Hahahaha yeah i remember the one about ejectment and i went through my outline before ansWering just to make sure.

And i got that wrong

Civ pro adaptibar questions only test the exceptions. Drive me crazy.

But i just started to review civ pro so i need to study hard on this one

So after about 250 questions on adaptibar, my average score stands at 60%. My themis average is around 59%. Should I be worried at this stage? I intend to revise all MBE handouts again, specifically to focus on weaker areas.

I would suggest to keep at it and hit the 350 mark first. After that stage, a "past performance table" feature will appear that breaks down your performance by subject and sub-topic. Every time you complete 350 questions, a new "past performance table" opens up so you can compare.

I would take 6's advice... Don't get discouraged. Like I said earlier, after 250 questions I was probably somewhere near 56% correct... Now I'm consistently in the 80% range on the sets of 30 questions that I do each day. You'll be ok... Just keep plugging along!

I plan to do a couple hours worth of MBE questions on Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday night before the MBE portion of the CBX. On Adaptibar, I I noticed that my success rate takes a slight dip if I take the prior day off practicing questions.
