It seems like most people on this thread got around 120...do you mind sharing percentiles?
Wondering what the average was this exam...
I got a 133 and it is saying that is 79th percentile.

It let me override my "scantron" once I finished the right test just a little while ago... 159/200. 109/200 this past summer.atcushman wrote:It let me override my score and resubmit I would imagine most ppl would realize there was some type of errorstranlaw wrote:If two people on this thread alone submitted answers for the wrong exam and got extremely low scores (naturally)...how many other people made the same mistake?
What does that do to the BarBri midterm average? Those scores need discarded so they do not count for the group average. Otherwise the group average will be skewed much lower.
What if some people think they bombed it and they did the wrong exam? Not good.
I just finished my BarBri simulated MBE and got 133.
Hopefully between the fact that the BarBri test questions are so much harder than the real thing plus adding points for the scale will mean I might pass this thing. *crosses fingers*

Is it possible to view which questions you got right and wrong on the simulated MBE, and to view your answers compared to the correct answers? It appears that you can only view the number of questions you got right and wrong for each subject in the personal study plan.

I did fail last time... Got a 126 scaled. My downfall was not reading the explanatory answers to the practice questions last time. Don't know what percentile that makes me... Accidentally did the Practice Full Day in the MPQ book yesterday instead of the simulated, so I did the simulated today lolstranlaw wrote:The_U...that's interesting. We were right together.

In the summer, I got 101, which was something like 22nd percentile. I have always sucked at multiple choice and TONS of practice has helped me improve. Strangely enough, my score was predictive of my actual score. I got 126 scaled on the real thing, which was like the 20th percentile. I was surprised just because the real MBE felt very different from Barbri's. My downfall in the summer was 1) not practicing enough, 2) not reading the explanations more thoroughly.

The real questions are shorter, for one thing. Emanuel's book fits 4-6 questions per page, compared to Barbri's 2 or 3. It's not that they're actually easier when you really get down to the question being asked, but they just seem to maybe lack a layer of pointless complexity.Abbie Doobie wrote:in what sense?DueProcessDoWheelies wrote:I was surprised just because the real MBE felt very different from Barbri's.

Managed a 143/200, which it says is 90th percentile. Second time taker, had a 136.1 scaled on the July MBE… so fingers crossed this translates to the real thing in a few weeks!

Re: BarBri Bar Review Hangout - February 2016 Exam
I keep hearing lots of re-takers say this. As a first-time taker, I'm trying to make sure that I DON'T have this experience which could potentially mess me up on gameday. I've got only Barbri to work with, so my plan is to 1) make sure to work through all the released MBE questions on ESC for each of the subjects and 2) purchase an MBE practice from NCBE in the next week or so. Is there anything else that you guys would suggest, assuming I can't shell out for Adaptibar? I'm making sure to always read the Barbri explanations VERY carefully, including ones I get right for the wrong reasons and all the ones I guess on. How else should I approach this with just Barbri prep? TYIA.rinkrat19 wrote:The real questions are shorter, for one thing. Emanuel's book fits 4-6 questions per page, compared to Barbri's 2 or 3. The first Emanuel book has real MBE questions (except for Civ Pro) and you can get it for $40-50.jackbauer10 wrote:I keep hearing lots of re-takers say this. Re: BarBri Bar Review Hangout - February 2016 Exam
To all the people that got great percentiles on the simulated MBE:
That's great. Keep doing what you're doing. Don't think you have it now and focus on essays or whatever else your state has.
You got a high percentile because what you're doing is right. So keep doing that.
Get those subjects down like a boss.
And to reiterate what others have said: the real MBE feels nothing like that. When reviewing BARBRI questions you can see why what is right is right and why what is wrong is wrong. Sometimes you get a "A) is a better answer than B) because ..." but those are few from BARBRI. Come real MBE time, there's tons of questions where I just had to guess and this is even in subtopics where I was acing it on BARBRI.

Re: BarBri Bar Review Hangout - February 2016 Exam
February 1st and I'm officially marking my spot in here. I need to pass this jx test for work purposes and this is my first time taking the bar with the new CP questions added.
Have the next 3 weeks off to study at home. I've done about 800-900 MBE questions (averaging between 54-62% ) and have been reading and reviewing essays while I was working out of the country. I got delayed another week due to the snow along the east coast but I'm officially back. My Jx test is 50/25/25 (MBE/Essays/MPT) so I'm gonna spend the next couple of weeks really working on my MBE while trying to master the formatting for essays/MPTs.
I have my critical pass flashcards, Pieper's Multistate Exam book, and RIGOS for the MEE/MPT. Wish you all the best of luck.
Seems like a lively bunch in here. Pleasure to make your acquaintance.

Definitely agree with rink, if you can swing the Emanuel's book + an OPE from the NCBE website, I wouldn't lose too much sleep re: not being able to shell out for adaptibar.rinkrat19 wrote:The first Emanuel book has real MBE questions (except for Civ Pro) and you can get it for $40-50.jackbauer10 wrote:I keep hearing lots of re-takers say this. (FWIW I did exactly what I'm suggesting to you for July 2014 and passed with a 146 MBE. Nothing to write home about compared to some of the scores you see on TLS, but I was more than happy with it)

Got a 146 /93% percentile ranking. Got sick on Saturday with a high fever and have not been able to study - coming back into it only today. Do you guys recommend watching the MBE explanatory videos we got assigned during the weekend? or is it best to ready the answers myself?
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
