I am retaking the Texas Bar Exam in February (failed by 10 points in July 2015). Neways, I'm looking to form a small study group for those bar takers in San Antonio, or the surrounding area, who are also taking the February Bar Exam.

If anyone else is interested, please let me know.

I am retaking the Texas Bar Exam as well in February (failed it by 7 points). I am currently in San Antonio and will be retaking Barbri online. Are you taking any other supplement this time around?

Failed by 16 points in July. I'm in San Antonio as well and using my free retake with Themis + Critical Pass flashcards.

I was thinking of getting AdaptiBar to practice more on the MBE, but then I read that most of the questions are outdated (apparently they were easier a couple years ago). I have the flashcards as well.

I broke down and purchased AdaptiBar. Its been a great asset to my bar prep. And, since they're actual bar questions, I feel confident in my progress and results. Other than AdaptiBar, my plan is to get into a routine of doing at least 40-50 mixed set of Qs on AdaptiBar each day. Then, review why I got them right/wrong the following morning over coffee. Also, DO NOT neglect the P&E. Do, a practice set every single day. Trust me, for those of us who failed by 10 points or less, that could have made a huge difference.

If you want to get together and go over some portions of the exam, let me know!

Do you have a source for what you read?

I'm interested in the source, as well.

I do not have a source, I just read that somewhere else. But just to make sure, I actually emailed AdaptiBar and they told me that the old questions have been reformatted to the new style. So nothing to worry, sorry if I scared anyone.

I also got an advertisement in my address from www.texasbarflash.com. I do not know how well they are, but they have condensed outlines for the essay questions. Its only $50, wouldn't hurt trying.

I got the Texas bar flash and was really disappointed. The information wasn't organized well and some of it was outdated or wrong. Don't waste your money.

Hey,

I am taking the February Texas Bar Exam as well. I am absolutely FREAKING OUT!!! I didn't study enough! I want to withdraw from the exam but I know I won't get any refund. I saw this forum and thought maybe some of you will understand. I just moved to TX in December!!!

I think this is a question that ONLY you can truthfully answer. Bar exam anxiety is a normal emotion of the bar exam prep--especially as we move closer and closer to February. However, if you're freaking out because you didn't study/prepare sufficiently and/or you did prepare and are still having difficulty understanding the material, it would be in your best interest to defer the bar exam until a later date. (There is a chance that you can defer and ask the board to apply your February bar exam payment towards the July 2016 exam. However, you would have to call the board and ask yourself.)

Nevertheless, the refund issue should NOT be a factor in your decision. You can ONLY take the bar exam 5 times in Texas.

Good luck!

Thank you so much for the reply. I have taken the NY bar in July 2015 and failed it by 5 points. My MBE score was very bad. My husband is in the military that's why moved to TX. I feel extremely overwhelmed with all these new TX subjects. I couldn't focus much on study in Dec and Jan as we purchased a home and had some major renovation going on. I reached out to my licensure analyst regarding the fee issue. Thank you once again for your reply. I had no idea about the 5 times limitation on TX bar exam. Thank you!

No problem. I'm happy I could help! Send me your email, and I will email you my TX essay subject and MBE notes after the Feb. Bar Exam next week. Hopefully, my bar notes will help alleviate some of your anxiety!

Hello,

My name is Rhayra and I'm a foreign attorney from Brazil taking the February 2017 Texas bar exam. I just moved to Houston and I signed up with Themis Bar Review. I don't know if it was the right choice since I read so many different oppinions of people that loved it and people that hated it. However this process is being really overwhelming to me and I'm seeking some advices from prior students that have already taken the Texas Bar before.

My email is rhayra1@hotmail.com and it would be great if anyone is willing to help me with some useful information, advices and useful materials that has helped you guys on this stressful moment of our lives!!

Thank you

I completed Themis and passed the February 2016 Texas bar in Austin. For Themis, be sure to read the full outlines on subjects for the first day procedure/evidence and third day TX essays. The lecture outlines are insufficient. Go to the Texas BLE web site and read the model answers from previous exams. For the Bar, decide where you are going to stay, plan your route from your hotel/house to the exam center, and bring money for lunch. If you'll stay at a hotel, book one early; the February 2017 bar exam will take place in the middle of the 85th Texas Legislative Session, in which City hotels and motels will be packed with staffers, lobbyists, citizens, and news reporters.

Hello,
I am a foreign attorney from India, moved to the US a couple of years back. I do not have an LLM from the US. I gave the California Bar last week and TBH not big hopes on that end. I would like to know the procedure for registering for taking the Texas Bar as we have plans to move there in a few months. How difficult is it to be permitted to sit for the Texas Bar as a foreign attorney- as in the documents to be submitted and the like.
TIA!
