Congrats to many on the good news today!

for those who passed, any advice on which bar prep course is best particularly for the GA bar? thanks!

Honestly, whichever gives you the best deal.

Can't say anything about Themis cause I don't know enough people who passed and took it, but as far as Barbri and Kaplan goes, seems to be a pretty even split.

Just do the assignments.

I took barbri and then bought the critical pass notecards (these were super clutch for me towards the last few weeks).

Got like 15/17 on the last crim thing and like 8/17 on the last torts one. I was all over the place towards the end.

Don't know if we get the scores or not, but I bet my essay scores carried the day for me.

We do, I just got an update in my profile.

Oh ya, I also got the critical pass cards. I did a different set each night before I went to bed.

And the last couple weeks or so I did a random set of 10 question each night too.

I did Barbri. I didn't do anything other than the barbri assignments, but I did all of them. I half-assed the essays like crazy though. Just outlined nearly all of them. The only ones I wrote out were the ones I turned in for grading. The MBE was a complete curveball, so you might want to buy some actual NCBE questions. I think you can get some for ~$50.

Regardless of the prep program, I think you just have to do the assignments. If you put the work in, you'll pass. I did.

If I remembered I'd tell you. I wanna say I was around a 104 though.

Towards the end I was averaging a 115. The last week, I plummeted. Got something like a 7/20 on the released MBE questions. Freaked out, because they were supposed to be easier and bought a question pack from the NCBE (or whatever service it was). got around 35-40% of those right. Freaked out some more. Just went over my Critical Pass notecards nonstop after that.

If anyone is interested in it, I have a referral code

http://criticalpass.refr.cc/3FZN28T

Full disclosure, it gives me a kickback of $10 and will give you a $5 discount off the price. If you find a better discount code, go for it. Otherwise, it's mutually beneficial and even without this, I still couldn't recommend these notecards enough.

I did 100% of the Barbri work and didn't have time to make note cards, something that works wonders for me. These were pretty spot on to what Barbri gave me. I'll be checking this thread for a few more days, if any of you guys have questions about Barbri or Critical Pass, I'll be happy to answer them.

I still can't believe I passed and this weight is off my shoulders. Congrats to everyone that passed. And to everyone that didn't,he world isn't over, you guys got this. Trust me, if I was able to do it, then so can you. I wasn't anywhere near the top half of my class, only went to a T60, and I still managed to get a job and pass the bar. I mean it when I say that if I can do it, so can you.

I did Kaplan. Got a 135-ish on the midterm, and a 128 on the final. Passed, and got a 154 scaled on the MBE. I probably spent 85% of my time studying MBE subjects rather than state subjects.

Not to be a buzzkill, does anyone know if the scores can be appealed? I missed it by one point.

Passed--I did the 1-day Attorney's exam, which is just the MPT/essay portion. GA assigns you a 135 on the MBE, and I got a 161 on the essay/MPT section to pass. I used the Themis GA essay review course (which doesn't include MBE materials), though I really only completed about 40-50% of it.

I don't know, but you totally need to do everything you can to appeal. One point is too close not to push them to look at your essays/MPT.

I THOUGHT if you got within 5 points it was automatically appealed. Could have just been a rumor though.

They regraded your essays and mpts and take the higher score. That's why I'm not sure if it's appellable.

Has anyone received their letter in the mail yet? It should contain the certificate of approval you need to give to the clerk so you can be sworn in...

Suprised, but not suprised, at the numbers overall. That was a hard exam. I am suprised at Emory's numbers, though.
