CA admission certificates

The California bar has two types of admission certificates: a "standard" one which is free and a fancy one which costs money. I have seen pictures of the fancy one, but does anyone know what the standard one looks like? Is there any point to getting a certificate other than to hang on the wall? Do firms ever reimburse the cost of the fancy one? Is it worth buying?

There's absolutely no reason to get it except to hang it up on your wall, and firms will generally not reimburse the $60 dollars it costs. The standard one is very amateur looking and you will not be hanging it on your wall. While its absolutely not essential, I don't see why someone wouldn't just spend the money to have a very nice certificate of a major accomplishment that will likely be a family heirloom one day.
