I have a set of Critical Pass flashcards up for grabs to anyone that wants them- some notes on a few of the cards but they are mostly untouched since for me making my own flashcards worked better. Just PM me with your address and pay for shipping and you can have them.

Also a Whitney Roberts bar cheat sheet book. There are notes and lines on a few of the pages but it is mostly clean.

I trashed the rest of my bar stuff because it was too scribbled up, boy was that cathartic!

A male human- I will send you my essays I got back from the last two bars, let me know where to send. I am giving up the property exam I got an 85 on even though I'm tempted to frame it, haha. But all in the name of paying it forward. :D

Awesome! You can actually scan or take pictures of them if that helps you save the effort and cost of shipping, and you can still frame your 85 (congrats). Does that work for you?

For the repeaters and the people that didn't pass the exam: What are we supposed to receive now? I have no clue since it was the first time I took the exam so... Are we going to receive our essays and an explanation of our mistakes and the things we did wrong?

I was sworn in on Dec. 3 and searchable on the web site Dec. 4th! You can get your number there.

I think you have to wait for the mailed fee statement to order your customized certificate though. When I try it asks for some 7 or 8 digit number from said fee statement, and won't let me order without it.

In a couple weeks-ish, you should get back copies of your essays and PTs but they won't have any markings or explanations on them whatsoever.

Thanks for the explanation. I thought that they will at least have markings or something. Guess I could send them to the tutor I hired so he can tell me what I did wrong.

To be fair I swore in right in Oakland so it was probably unusually fast...

Well, Loyola passers who swore in on the 3rd took up a whole half day yesterday, somehow they were in the pile before me even though I swore in the day before. I was estimating they take 5 minutes per card.

Loyola faxes the cards in instead of mailing.

Does anyone have bar-winners outlines they can share? Please?! :D :D
I like their outline format, it seems more straight forward than most out there.
thanks!

Barbri's CMR or shorter outlines?

Assuming that you understood all the concepts, what method did u guys use to memorize the rules?

I studied from CMR and the "short" outlines from Barbri for the last exam.

If I had to pick again between those two, I would stick with Barbri's "short" outlines.

Since this time around I change my method of studying (now with a tutor) I have shorter outlines that for me are much better, since I don't need all the stuff that is in those large outlines and the CMR (since I understand the concepts and know most of them already from studying before).

RULES Statements:

I hand wrote all the major rules per subject I gathered and tweaked to my liking (various resources, including model answers on the Cal Bar website) and put them in a binder that was divided by subject.

I spent ONE HOUR daily just memorizing and writing out rules (on the laptop) each evening, going through subject-by-subject. I studied for
7 weeks prior to the July Bar (as a repeater) and did this with rules 7 days a week. That's a huge number of accumulated hours banging out
rules statements by the time the exam rolls around, but seemed like not a hugely miserable task during the process.

I can't tell you what a relief it was in July (which I passed) to not even have to think when stating the rules and just banging them out rote. It also helped with issue spotting as you know the elements so well, so identify those quickly when you are reading and it triggers a sense of the issue-rule connections they are looking for--especially with cross-over essays where there is a lot of depth to get to.

Obviously, this also helps hugely with the MBE. I was only at 50% accuracy the first time I took Cali. with Barbri (got a 109 raw) and this time was able to waive into several other jxs. and felt the MBE was straightforward overall -- something I never thought I'd experience, ever!!

If anyone wants any more particulars, just PM me.

Good luck. This is an ever-changing test that, at least in my estimation, doesn't allow for cutting corners in preparation.
