What was the answer to that short-answer about the client's fraud?

not trying to get banned

. It was difficult though, I took an educated guess. I'm sure most people did the same

When in doubt, pick the second most ethical answer?

Yeah, sorry, you can't discuss specific bar questions here.

Sorry, but why? In Virginia you're allowed to take the questions home with you at the end of the day. After the examination it's public information. The Virginia Board of Bar Examiners doesn't expect us to keep quiet about it, so why does TLS?

Because different states have different requirements and frankly it's too much work to figure out which bar exam you're talking about and whether your state makes the questions public. Also the MBE questions aren't public. So it's easiest to have a bright-line rule.

Looking at other threads suggests you may be taking on the role of King Canute.

You can talk about your reaction to the exam, which topics were tested, or that you did terribly on the estates question. You just can't start comparing answers to the estates question. If you've seen other posts where people have been giving details about the questions and comparing specific answers, please report them.

I was a bit surprised to see two local gov't questions and nothing on any civil procedure. Barbri had us spend maybe 1 day on local gov't...

The local government answer was easy, but there was a Civ Pro quesiton. There was an abomination of a question that was partnership/contract/civ pro all in one. Overall I thought the essays were not too bad. But screw that MBE.

well, I didn't talk to anyone who thought there was a civ pro question. not to say that if you threw some stuff in there it won't be added points for you, but there weren't any questions I'd classify as being substantially civ pro

I've seen the essays they gave this year and I've gotta agree with the other guy. That "partnership question" was definitely a civpro question in disguise. The civpro issues were subtle, but far, far more dispositive than the partnership / contract issues as the court wouldn't have even reached the merits in deciding them. If you've looked at past VA questions, the examiners love to test whether people pick up on that.

I guess we'll see! Great way to differentiate yourself if so, since literally everyone I talked to was shocked at the lack of a civ pro question.
unless you're talking about the equity issues that were involved? which I did discuss. but i don't really call those "civ pro"...

Just looked at them all again. If there's a Civ pro question there I can't imagine many ppl got it in the heat of the moment. I probably did twice as many civ pro essays as Barbri assigned and I still really don't see anything that's very close.
What's done is donr though I guess.

I hope I'm not freaking anyone out by bumping this thread to the top, but I figured I'd ask a question in its relevant thread:
On the 2nd day of the exam, they told us scores will be released on Oct 17, right?

Tentatively. They said Oct. 15 last year and it was delayed.

They definitely gave the Hallowe'en date last year and the results came out on that date.
I don't know where the Oct 15th date came from.
This post from last year talks about the 31st as does
this page from Themis.

I guess my source was just mistaken. But they definitely said tentatively Oct. 17th this time around. They did not give any assurances though.

Professor sample answers have been posted at the link below. Historically they post bar results before or on the day they promise at the test. They definitely said Oct. 17 at the test.

At least the reports on the mbe curve seem encouraging. Ppl seem to be indicating the curve was large

This wait is terrible. I actually found myself googling "what to do while waiting on bar exam results." I'm about to lose it.
