I relieve the frustration by keepin a running mental tally of all the awesome shit I'm going to do when this is over.
For instance, I booked a trip back home to see my family, I'll be working on my classic car, going swimming in the ocean, and working on starting my own business.

Sure everyone else is out having fun now, but just wait till they get a load of me!!

I kinda feel like the stress is imagined from here on out though. At this point, you kinda know if you're on track or if it's a coin flip. If you've been going steady for a while, it seems like panicking and wracking your nerves is pointless.

It's just the fear of losing what I have that's become stressful. I've never had so much riding on a single moment in my life. In law school, if I got sick during a final, that wasn't the end of things -- I'd just call in sick and take it another time, or worst case scenario they wouldn't let me and I'd have some explaining to do and have to re-take a class. For the LSAT, it would have really really really really sucked to take it again, but it would have been doable. For the bar, if I don't don't get licensed by the end of October, I won't have my job anymore. I'm doing fine but I've never had so much pressure to do anything in my life before.

your employer expressly made your offer contingent on passing the bar exam the first time?

Yup, they had no choice. PD office, and they can't afford to pay me for 12 months when I wouldn't be representing people in court and shouldering a share of their case burden.

I feel you, same here. (Prosecutor's office). Student certification only lasts till the day the bar results for the FIRST examination following graduation come out. If I fail, POOF, unemployed.

That sounds cool. Sadly, I have jury duty immediately after my bar exam. I would have liked being on a jury anytime, except after a bar exam. I'm going to have PSTD when I start hearing about hearsay.

Have you already been selected? I've always heard its pretty easy to get eliminated from jury duty merely by mentioning that you're (sort of) a lawyer.

im sure if you tell them you jus took the bar exam they would let you go

All I do is whine and complain about the bar, be really unreasonable, irritated, and moody, or alternatively find certain things (usually bar related humor) REALLY hilarious. I feel like I've lost my mind and am no longer a reasonably happy well-adjusted person. Will I ever be normal again.

It's great advice to imagine what you'll be doing AFTER the bar exam. For me, I'd imagine myself going to Universal Studios. It was like that pot o' gold at the end of the rainbow. Even though it rained like hell right after the Feb 2014 bar, it was totally worth it--soaked up all that enjoyment after months of studying.

I always analogize taking the Bar exam with the UFC. Many UFC fighters wage their wars before they even get in the ring. They essentially try to get into the minds of their opponents and if they succeed, it doesn't matter how strong or big you are--the other guy already has the upper hand.

So... don't let the bar examiners get into your mind. This post in itself is a sign that the bar examiners are already in your head! You want to go into this bar exam cool, confident, and collected. You must believe that you have what it takes to destroy this exam. In the words of Bob Marley: "don't worry ... cuz everything is gonna be alright." Good luck everyone!

You're probably not going to hear anything about hearsay when you're on jury duty. Usually taken care of on the front end or at sidebar. You'll definitely never have to make the call.

You'll enjoy it. Being a juror is an incredible experience. Hope you get called so that you can actually sit at a trial rather than a waiting room.

Wait wait wait (and I hate to kill the good mood of this thread) but wouldn't this still be strict liability? I'm thinking of a Themis practice question where dude was keeping a python in his house, python was hiding in the grass, and plaintiff tripped on the python and hurt himself. Python didn't bite him or strangle him or anything, but it was still strict liability just because the defendant was keeping a dangerous animal.
