How to bargain with Barbri at this point (paid deposit)?

Hi everyone,

I already paid the $250 deposit for Barbri for the July bar exams (NY) and wonder whether you guys have any advice as to whether I may still be able to bargain at this point. I realize that other prep programs are much cheaper, but I also realize that typically the "bargaining phase" is BEFORE one pays the $250.

I'd really appreciate any advice on this, incl. how to bargain at this point and what discount may still be realistic.
Thanks a lot.

I didn't try negotiating, but you should apply for their "scholarships" (they have a few, e.g. a leadership one, etc.). You would be surprised, you might be able to get one and knock a few hundred bucks off.

tell them themis is giving you credit for your bar bri deposit. See if Barbri will watch 1250.

You've probably already tried negotiating, do let us know the outcome even if you don't name a specific price.

If you're taking the online course, these things are like hotels rooms. Once it's this late in the game, courses are almost impossible to sell since almost everyone has signed up. Given the marginal cost of adding a student, a >$1,000 fee is mostly profit.

I'd think your negotiating position is good - if not with barbri, then with the other big providers who'd love to have you.
