What do you mean "2nd round"? Were you previously not offered an interview after having passed the bar exam and submitted a character/fitness application?

I mean that the first round of interviews was on December 8th....the next being Jan 5th.

I submitted mines around that time as well and have the same interview date... I didn't know they have the first set of interviews on the 8th. Maybe i should have submitted it sooner.

You are still very early- no one at my firm (medium sized class) even has a date yet.

Speaking of which- anyone know when the third round will be? I submitted just before thanksgiving but haven't heard back yet.

Express mailed my application to the Third Dept yesterday, just got the email that they received it. Anyone know if they're still giving out interviews for the January 21st swearing in? Really hoping they don't ask for more documents, I already spent the last 2 months collecting everything...

Don't know about 3rd Dept., but iin 1st, they told us they would send us interview notices at least 4-weeks in advance of interview date. If that's the case with you also, then you're probably set for February.

Third dept. here . My interview is on the day of the ceremony.

I got my appointment for the third department today, interview on Jan. 20, swearing in on Jan. 21. So they are still scheduling for the January date. You can always call and ask, and they will tell you if they are still registering for that date. Good Luck

I'm still trying to get my application together. I did some internships outside of the country, so trying to get my employment affidavits back in from them has been a bit of a nightmare. One of them was a compliance internship rather than a legal one, so I'm wondering if that is "law-related" enough to warrant inclusion or if I can just leave it off. I'm thinking that it is better to be safe than sorry and just keep trying to get it, but I'm kind of at the end of my rope here. Thoughts?

Docs okayed! Interview on the 5th, orientation on the 6th, oath on the 11th... I'm just glad this stage of my life is about to be over!

Dear All

Apologies if these questions are repeated here.

By way of background, I am a foreign applicant (UK educated) and a retaker. For some it may seem too early but I am currently in the process of filing out my bar admission application along with law related employment form and pro bono form. I would highly appreciate if you guys could shed some light on few questions that I have.

In the bar admission application form, I am supposed to declare whether or not I have any civil cases or criminal cases. I am not sure if I have any civil case filed for outstanding debt in the UK. There was a debt collection agency attempting to contact me to claim the outstanding money. I am not so sure whether they proceeded with filing the case. I am currently trying to find out if there is a judgment against me. Therefore my question is two fold:
a) Should I declare in the application form that I may have a case against me in UK? or should I find out first and then declare the information?
b) Should I declare about my case even if I have settled it or have paid the judgment amount?

I do not currently live in the UK. I am in the process of contacting a solicitor firm to assist me.

For those of you who have already sworn in during this week or last, how long was the process? Did you received any card or receipt indicating that you were sworn in?

Swearing in on Feb 8 in 1st department. They would never schedule the ceremony on Hanukkah or on Christmas, but of course they don't mind scheduling it on Chinese New Year.

yeah but I submitted fairly late, got the confirmation on 12/10. when did you get confirmation?

Same, 12/10. I'm assuming we weren't the only ones who turned it in last minute so they probably have to review a lot.

true. a few days ago in this thread someone indicated they were still handing out interview dates for January 20th, I'm really hoping to get an interview for the 21st so I can just do it and the ceremony on the same day. hopefully they get back to us soon

I believe I mailed it in Mid-November, I had to send in some supplemental information as well, and got that in the first week of December.

Update for y'all, just got confirmation from the Third Dept that my application was accepted. They gave me an interview slot for the morning of January 20th, so they're definitely still taking people for the 21st swearing-in.
