He told them he'd graduated from the University of Michigan and had been accepted to Notre Dame Law School.

"There must be thousands of dollars worth of Notre Dame textbooks in his room. It's almost like he believed that he was a student,” said Baker.

Stearley took his laptop and some important papers, but he left most of his stuff behind – including various ID cards from other colleges, a drawer full of beepers, medications and surveillance equipment and a sword.

Hey, what is more surprising: that this guy had a sword or that he had a drawer full of beepers?

Hard to tell if he was a medieval scammer or a 1995 scammer.

I thought that too but the article says he has posed as an emergency room physician and even wrote prescriptions. Apparently his own life wasn't good enough.

I wonder how he got access codes to get into the building? And one of the professors apparently knew him by name - so was he actually attending class? (Per the actual newscast) Do law schools take attendance?

Not nearly as good as Catch Me If You Can.

They usually make a big seating chart with everyone's name on it.

"Stearley was arrested back in 2001 in Jacksonville, Florida for impersonating a physician's assistant, as well as trespassing and stealing at several hospitals."

Nice.

HOLY SHIT. I just now saw this.

True Story: Scammers boyfriend messaged me on facebook. The scammer thought I knew him because I was in a facebook group about the guy, and asked me to return his samurai sword and AIDS medications.

I wish I was making this up.
