Re: Georgetown 1L Taking Questions
how are the people/culture? sorry, had to ask. highly interested in gtown but i keep hearing bad things about this
any idea what's going on with the GELPI? Vermont stole the director? know what's going on next? i wasn't sure what the "expanding in new directions" language on the site meant, aside from maybe "he left last minute and fucked us over"
are you going to do a clinic?

Obviously the big question: what's the feel on OCI and employment prospects?

Re: Georgetown 1L Taking Questions
Does it live up to the hype?
Does the catholocism have any real manifestation in your every day life (I'm sure its obvious in things like graduation--but what about in the classroom)
Whats your weekly/monthly cost of living not including rent (ie: food, transit, entertainment)
Is everyone there going to be richer than me?
If they are, are they annoying about it?

Self reported employment stats FTL.
Thanks for your insights, though...

what do you think could be added to a georgetown application post-waitlist? no new job. joke scores, in their eyes (162/3.47).

This, like so many TLS qusions can be answered by a series of informative youtube videos. Videos are in response to each question below in order:Does it live up to the hype?
Does the catholocism have any real manifestation in your every day life (I'm sure its obvious in things like graduation--but what about in the classroom)
Whats your weekly/monthly cost of living not including rent (ie: food, transit, entertainment)

Re: Georgetown 1L Taking Questions
I've got one. Would you characterize the class of 2012 as mostly straight from undergrad or do you have a healthy mix? I'm in a very "young" class right now and looking to transfer to a more diverse environment. Thanks...

Re: Georgetown 1L Taking Questions
Does having the law school in a different location from the undergrad facilities take away from the experience of going to Georgetown?

Re: Georgetown 1L Taking Questions
Where do you live? How hard is it to find housing that is doable? How does the budget process work? I have a wife and a kid, do you know if it is possible to request a bump in the student budget? I know that some law schools work with married students to adjust their budget, but I haven't been able to find out anything about Georgetown. My wife is also a student, so we'll be getting some help from her financial aid (UG) but any information you have would be greatly appreciated.

This isn't meant to contradict or criticize you, but I find it hilarious that a block from the Capitol building and some of the nation's most impressive museums, and the national mall, is "underwhelming." Obviously you're referring to how fun it is - and we all know that museums and the government aren't fun at all - but I just thought it was sad to think of the most important square mile in the country that way.pasteurizedmilk wrote:malnewt wrote: The location, however, is underwhelming. It's kinda a business district and htere aren't any good bars nearby. DC is an amazing city overall, but the location of GULC is not.

If I know I want to work in NYC after law school, is it still a good idea to attend GULC?
I really like GULC and its environment but for personal reasons, I want to be in NY after law school.
