Those aren't even close to being mutually exclusive.

That album got me through senior thesis and half of LRW. Whisky got me through the other half of LRW.WhiskeyGuy wrote:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=558bTG0D-xg

'a love supreme' is definitely a more accurate description of my relationship with alcohol than with LRW.Kretzy wrote:That album got me through senior thesis and half of LRW. Whisky got me through the other half of LRW.WhiskeyGuy wrote:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=558bTG0D-xg

I don't know anyone who purchased a meal plan.z3201 wrote:I'm also curious about this. Does anyone have thoughts on getting a meal plan?MaxWeber wrote:incoming 1L here---where do law students eat on campus? meal plan worth it?

I'd venture that most students either eat breakfast in their apartments (cereal, eggs. w/e) or skip it.
For lunch, a lot of people take advantage of the various lunch talks which provide free lunches. If and when you get sick of the same three meals, though, there are a number of decent places to eat near the law school. Coupa Cafe and Russo are popular lunch spots, and the Tressider complex has some good lunch stuff. Also, the new Business School cafe is about a ten minute walk away, but it has great food.
For dinner, eating at home is pretty common, as is (again) Coupa or a few other on-campus dining facilities. A good chunk of students have cars, so it's not uncommon to see people go off campus for food (especially on/near weekends).

What do SLS students typically do during their 1L summer?

I don't think there is a "typical" summer gig. I know folks externing for judges, working for U.S. Attorneys, interning at federal agencies, and doing 1L stints at law firms.hdivschool wrote:What do SLS students typically do during their 1L summer?

It feels like a lot of people worked abroad this summer as well. I can think of people in Chile, Greece, Norway, Nepal, Bhutan, Timor-Leste, and Egypt just off the top of my head.WhiskeyGuy wrote:I don't think there is a "typical" summer gig. Most people seem to be at the four types of jobs WG described above, though.

Thanks!
How do students externing for judges generally fund their externship?

Schedules!
Upperclassmen have any insights about J Martinez, R Weisberg, R Gordon, A Sykes and B Rosenbaum?

That's a pretty darn good 1L schedule. I've only had JMart (for Civ Pro, you have her for the same I'm assuming?) but I really enjoyed her. Others didn't, but Civ Pro was one of my favorite 1L classes. Weisberg's a genius, Sykes is really, really funny (though I didn't have him for Torts, lots of folks liked him).pride09 wrote:Schedules!

Don't know Gordon. Contracts, maybe?

Had Sykes for Torts--he was amazing. His cold calls are very intimidating, albeit entertaining.Kretzy wrote:That's a pretty darn good 1L schedule. Gordon didn't teach last year, but (s)he must be Ks, as Rosenbaum is an LRW instructor. Booya logic games.

I've got Jennifer Martinez (Civil Procedure), Mark Kelman (Criminal Law), G. Marcus Cole (Contracts), Nora Engstrom (Torts) and Beth Colgan (Legal Research and Writing). Thoughts?

I looked up Robert Gordon--he was poached this summer from Yale Law School.
