You should be fine with PNC. We had a lot of RBC branches in North Carolina that are now PNC.Incubateus wrote:Any thoughts as to what banks are best to use? I have PNC accounts, but I don't know accessible everything will be once I'm down in WS. Should I transfer to a BB&T or other bank, or am I fine sticking with PNC?

When do 1L classes start? The law homepage says August 27 classes begin for upper level students but it doesn't mention 1l classes anywhere.

Orientation should start a week before that.Wakelaw15 wrote:When do 1L classes start? The law homepage says August 27 classes begin for upper level students but it doesn't mention 1l classes anywhere.

Re: Wake Law Students taking Questions!!!
That's why I posted:I don't know. Orientation the 17th and 20th for sure, nothing on the calendar August 21-26. Basically do 1l classes start before or after 2/3l and when do we get the schedule?jsvaughn wrote:^It says that orientation starts on the 17th and that classes for upper level students start on 27th
Do we start actual classes on the 27th? Or do we start earlier, like the 21st or 22nd once orientation is over?

You'll have LAWR (research & writing) all week during orientation, the rest will be boring presentations and lots of Papa John's. Your other classes will start the 27th.

Maybe if you would have ate some quinoa instead, you wouldn't have gained any weight.SteelyDan wrote:Ha! That's the mindset that made me gain 25 pounds last year! You'll be sick of Papa John's after a while. Though you'll still eat it cause it's free.jsvaughn wrote:Gotcha. Thanks for the clarification
You should get the Orientation schedule within the next couple weeks, but SteelyDan is correct. You'll have Legal Writing most days, lots of presentations, and a half day of Habitat for Humanity.

Im curious to know as well. Specifically, if any biglaw firms outside of NC are interviewing this year. Last year I think there was only Skadden DE and K&L DC. Hopefully there are more firms this year since it's a larger class. GL 2Ls.LawyerMan wrote:Anyone have a list of firms that were at OCI?

You must have heard me wrong. I would never rid my body of the nutritional benefits of a mushroom.SteelyDan wrote:And then you quickly ran out of 1312 muttering something like "must. purge. now."SteelyDan wrote:OK, true. Does anyone know if journal people get study carrells? Or are they just for LR/TA?

Re: Wake Law Students taking Questions!!!
I'm fairly certain you don't get one just for being on a journal. I know that Law Review has one where all of the spading stuff is (and the other journals might have something like that as well), and then all TAs get one. Other than that, I think it's pretty much just grab one when you can.YankeesFan wrote:Does anyone know if journal people get study carrells? Or are they just for LR/TA?

Anyone know what happens with upper level classes and curves? I know once a class is under a certain amount of students (25?), there is no forced curve, but what happens if the class was supposed to have 50 and only 15 sign up? Is there no longer a mandatory curve?

That's how it's supposed to work. It doesn't matter how many people could sign up for the class -- it's how many people do sign up.YankeesFan wrote:Anyone know what happens with upper level classes and curves? If the class has fewer than 20 students and is taught by a full-time faculty member or if it is a paper class (taught by anyone), it isn't required to have a curve (though the professor could presumably still have one). The school's handbook has a pretty good explanation on it (page 3): http://studentlife.law.wfu.edu/files/20 ... 1.2012.pdf
