Re: Cornell 1L taking questions
Eh, I got 19 interviews and I'm happy with about 80% of them. I just threw together my bidlist at the last minute.

I know this isn't important for me to know now...but can someone explain the process of the bidlist so I know what you all are talking about?

Does anybody else find it odd that employers who we didn't get interviews with get to see how we bid on them?

Read it again. They only get to see THAT you bid on them.orderofthings wrote:Does anybody else find it odd that employers who we didn't get interviews with get to see how we bid on them?

Ah I missed the "not" part of the email. Attention to detail is a good lawyerly quality to have...Arbiter213 wrote:Read it again. I'm a 0L but i searched the thread and saw two comments.sf88 wrote:Did anyone here do the AOP last year? What was it like?
They said that it wasn't worth it doesn't really give you any type of leg up on the competition, but it was good for meeting some of your future classmates and getting to school early. I'm sure that people that actually go to Cornell can comment and give you more info however.

Having dinner at Johnson's place and her 1000 kids was the only worthwhile thing out of it.sf88 wrote:Did anyone here do the AOP last year? What was it like?

I went to Stella's once and thought it was literally the worst food I've ever had in Ithaca, but maybe it was just a bad day. I would recommend just walking collegetown and the commons. Most of the restaurants there you can't go wrong with. Even Jack's Burgers is pretty good.

Stella's is definitely hit or miss, but Jack's being awesome is credited. (Though they've really gone down hill).PinkCow wrote:Arbiter213 wrote:L/D: Ithaca Ale Housemsblaw89 wrote:Any other B/L/D recommendations? My family will be in Ithaca for a couple days

Oh! Agava by East Hill Plaza is great, too.

Anyone selling any furniture? Or have recommendations for a furniture store that also assembles?

Has no one mentioned Bandwagon Brew Pub yet? Amazing food (and beer) at the great price. Can't go wrong.msblaw89 wrote:Any other B/L/D recommendations? My family will be in Ithaca for a couple days

Re: Cornell 1L taking questions
You should make it a priority to go there then. They change their flights at least twice a week and the food and beer there way better and cheaper than the food and beer at Ale House. I'm looking forward to going back to Ithaca because I want to go to Bandwagon. Ithaca Brewery is also opening a brew pub adjacent to the brewery soon...it should be a good year.Arbiter213 wrote:I still have to make it there...BullShitWithBravado wrote:Has no one mentioned Bandwagon Brew Pub yet? I have an alumni mock interview coming up. Have other people done theirs yet? How are people prepping for their alumni interviews? Are we supposed to interview as if we are interested in the firm the alumni is at or will the interview be more generic (i.e. talk about yourself)?

They're of varying degrees of usefulness. Try not to worry about it at all, but from a pure networking perspective, you should at least know a little about their firm. Why WOULDN'T you prepare as though it were a real interview?transfer2014 wrote:I have an alumni mock interview coming up. Have other people done theirs yet? I fucking HAD a weil slot, hit submit, and it threw an error. Go back, click Latham, realize it's only conflicts. Get back to main page, barely anything left. Glad I snagged what I did, but that was super disappointing.
