Do law schools do background checks? Do law school transfers?

I’ve heard law schools don’t do background checks, hence what c and f is for for the bar
Am I correct though that
1) when you apply to law schools they ask questions regarding background but don’t run a background check on applicants?
2) what about if you get admitted to university of Southern California and transfer to say ucla or Berkeley, does the school of transfer do background checks on transfer applicants or likely not
