"JMF" meaning in citation

Ex: A v. B, 17-CV-8457 (JMF), (S.D.N.Y. Apr. 11, 2018).

"JMF"'s meaning? Been "Googling" for minutes.

It’s probably the initials of the judge assigned to the case.

This. Docket numbers in NY district courts are [Year]-[CR/CV to indicate criminal or civil matter]-[Random number] ([Judge initials]). I think this pattern is consistent across most (if not all) federal district courts.
