Does anyone have any experience with going through Character and Fitness with a fairly recent misdemeanor DUI? No other criminal or financial missteps other than this really stupid mistake. Should I look into hiring an ethics attorney? What proactive steps should I take other than paying fines/fees and completing counseling? I don't have a history of substance abuse other than this isolated instance. Have applied for the bar but have not heard yet if or when I'm going to have an informal/formal hearing. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
