Markets for Anti-Trust?

Hey everyone,

I was going through all the practice groups and one that really stood out to me was anti-trust. I know not a lot of firms practice anti-trust and it isn't as common as M&A (atleast what I garnered from chambers) but I'm curious as to what major markets do you tend to see a lot of firms specialize and practice anti-trust. I know DC is obviously #1 but what about any other markets? Doing a quick research through secondary markets like ATL and TX, there aren't a lot of firms that do this sort of thing so I was wondering if one wanted to eventually practice anti-trust law, is DC really their only option?

I would say that you're completely right about DC being #1 for antitrust.

I would say next would be NY, just because it's the next market closest DC. DOJ/FTC have field offices in NY as well.

Then, after that I would look at all the places where there's an DOJ Antitrust/FTC field office (SF, Chicago, etc.) DOJ Atr used to have field offices in Dallas and Philly so those markets might also have a market for antitrust.

Thanks for the reply!

Is it safe to assume that the places that have a DOJ Atr field office tend to also have law firms that specialize in anti-trust too?

I'm not too sure if these firms will "specialize" in antitrust but there will be firms that will practice antitrust law, if that makes any sense.

That makes sense. Thanks for letting me know about the DOJ Atr offices
