Offered 2L DA internship. High-walled town where I'd love to spend a career and retire. Full time spots are scarce, and I don't count on getting an offer right out of school. Might working for the prosecutor open other doors, i.g., daily interaction with local attorneys? Say you're searching for private practice in the area (biggest firm prob 30 members), what are some ways you could stand out enough to parlay a crummy internship into an outside offer?

Tldr; garbage internship in good city > good internship in garbage city?

I dk about your tldr question, but fwiw, in my city at least a lot of ADAs either do that for a while and enter private defense later, or go on to ultimately be judges. I don't know how common it is to "parlay a crummy internship into an outside offer" though.

Closed to outsiders. Job offers pretty much limited to relatives, neighbors and high school alumni.
