State civ pro?

2L here. In civ pro all we learned was federal CP. I am wondering if state civ pro is exactly the same? Or is there just small changes like dates of filing and stuff, but all the major concepts are the same.

Couldn't find anything looking it up. So if I was practicing in Oregon state court, is it safe to say I could just follow the FRCP?

Chances are good that the rules are largely the same, but you would need to follow the Oregon civ pro rules.

No, if you're practicing in Oregon state court, learn and follow the Oregon rules of civil procedure.

edit: CivPro class is helpful to teach you the basics, vocabulary, and stuff like that, and a lot of that will carry over into state court proceedings, but you should, at the very least, learn where the key distinctions are.
