0L prep?

Does anyone have any insight into the pre-law prep courses some schools offer? I am considered joining one the week before 1L at Berkeley, and it seems to provide an overview of how classes will be along with a 'meet your classmates' aspect. A chunk of it seems to be working off of Cracking the Case Method book -- is something like this worthwhile? Or are we better off doing individual prep with Getting to Maybe, etc... Thanks y'all!

Does this cost money?
Best 0L advice
1. Go to Class
2. Read the cases
3. Outline
4. Read the E&E for K, Tort, Civ Pro, maybe property, Dressler from Crim, and Cherminisky for Con
5. Read getting to Maybe
6. Don't do any 0L prep

Don’t do a prep course. Just enjoy your summer and maybe read GTM at the beach. You will learn how to approach law school once you are at law school and taking real classes. No “1 week” prep course can properly prepare you and might actually not prepare you for the way YOU need to process information. Everyone learns differently and it’s important that you find the best method for YOU. Whether that be briefing, reading ahead, taking notes only by hand, taking notes in textbook margins, outlining as you go, outlining at the end---you can only find that method on your own and you can’t figure that out from a 1 week prep course or any other prep you do over the summer.
Good things to do for your summer:
1) Catch up on tv shows, start new ones
2) Go to the beach, have a Corona and discover ir doesn’t taste any better on a beach.
3) Get a job and make some side money since you’ll likely need some money to get you through your 1L summer.
4) Hang out with non-law friends and family since you’ll be seeing less of them from now on.
5) Hang out with the S.O.
6) Travel the world
7) Get a puppy or kitten
8 ) etc.
[9) Lightly read GTM]
TL;DR: don’t do any 0L prep.
