Law or Optician?

I recently got accepted to SUNY UB with a full-ride scholarship. While I want to go to law school, I have also had the lifelong dream of becoming an optician. Can someone help me clear my head and allow me to make the proper choice?

How many hours do you want to work per week? How valuable are your weekends to you? Do you enjoy living in big cities? Do you have a minimum salary in mind? How do you handle stress? How do you handle reading boring paperwork for 8 hours at a time? Are you a detail oriented person?
Help us out here a little bit.

Honestly, I love fixing eye glasses and critically reading/analyzing documents. I wouldn't mind a salary of $30k, and a lifestyle that offers occasional time off. With that being said, the time, location, and pay is all secondary to me. I love each profession equally.

After you've fixed your 10,000th pair of eye glasses or read your 10,000th document and you're thinking ahead to retirement, what do you want your personal legacy to be?
What do you do for fun?
(I'm trying to see whether you're a workaholic or not)
I think that you're better suited for optometry. Why? Because you said that your lifetime dream was "being an optician." When talking about law, you just said "I want to go to law school."
Go be an optician, you can always come back to law school in 5 or 10 years if you want to change careers.

If you aren't sure you want to be a lawyer don't go to law school.

You're confusing an optician with an optometrist - they're two different professions. As far as my legacy goes, I honestly just want to work hard, enjoy my work, and leave a good impression. I'm not really particular. I study and work all day, and if I have time to sleep, then I do that.

But I'm not sure if I want to be an optician either, so I assume that you believe I shouldn't go to school for that either.

I can sell you a few. Paypal me a deposit, and then I'll email you a selection of what I have.

I'm in my late 20s and my prescription is a -8 in both eyes. Give me the over-under on me going completely blind someday.

Are you already an optician? Or like a hobbyist optician?

That was a joke aimed to the guy that said he wanted to buy glasses.

Do you know what kind of law you want to do? I think the main concern about law school is job prospect. Like if you do PI, you'll likely earn barely anything especially if you have debt. But if you do BigLaw, you'll get paid but you likely won't have a "smell the flowers" kind of a life. Of course there are other areas, but you get the idea. The legal profession varies enough that if you're stuck in an area you don't like, you'll be miserable.

Don't go to law school bro. It completely blows and there's no guarantee you'll get a job. I don't mean a good high-paying job. I mean a job period.
