Shot at biglaw paralegal/project assistant position in Chicago?

Hello TLS!
I am a senior who attends a Big 10 public ivy. I have a 3.5 GPA and a three month legal internship in the financial sector completed. What are my chances for nabbing a big law paralegal stint? I would like to work and live in Chicago!

Check with your campus career placement office. Not sure about Chicago firms, but many Wash DC & New York City firms recruit directly from top universities & LACS.

LACs = liberal arts colleges.
OP is referring to Michigan or Wisconsin as derived from the book citing Public Ivies.

I have no idea what your chances are but I thought I would share my experience.
I graduated with a 3.92 major GPA and a 3.6 cumulative GPA from a liberal arts school in the Midwest where I specifically studied the intersection of legal and social issues. I completed a legal internship over the summer and then applied to BigLaw project assistant positions. I sent out mass mailers as well as targeted applications and had dozens of interviews. The process is an emotional rollercoaster -- it requires a ton of preparation and patience and you'll likely have to deal with a lot of failure and rejection before you hear any positive news. Unfortunately I did not earn any offers.
The job is all about the fit. You might be a better interviewer than I am in which case the numbers don't matter much. I encourage you to give it a shot if it's something you're interested in even if you don't think you'll make the cut. The interviewing experience alone is very valuable and you'll learn a lot about yourself as well as the various types of people and work environments you might find yourself in down the road if you choose to go to law school. And if you get a job, you've set yourself up extremely well.
