Top Law Schools

Wow... I really hate law school haha. I mean this is just so unappealing! I haven't found anything too difficult yet, but I could not imagine being a lawyer. Even if it's nothing like law school, I think I'd really hate it! Should I get out while I still can?

Why do you think you'll hate being a lawyer? It is, as you guessed, absolutely nothing like law school.

i somewhat like the school part. or could at least tolerate it... it's the people inside it that gets me.

I don't like the amount of thinking involved. I can't imagine doing that every day. I'm just a simple-minded fella. I'm actually being serious here haha. Should I start pursuing other career paths that I passed on?

TO be fair, these fora have been telling you not to go to law school for the longest time. I'd advise getting out now.

Haven't you been on this site choosing a law school for like 5 years? And it just now occurred to you that lawyering might require thinking?

Should I just finish out my first semester and see what happens with grades? My thinking is that if I somehow pull top grades, I can grind it out here and then pay off my student loans and get outta this as soon as possible. I had no clue this was what I was signing up for!

Such a tough decision. I really didn't think I'd dislike it this much. This is insane. At this point I'm just forcing myself to do all the reading and I'm not even a month in.

I don't get how you guys got through/are getting through law school. I have so much reading to do for tomorrow and I haven't even started it. Gaahhhh. And then I got "cold-called" by a professor and I did fine but I felt like he was trying to destroy me. Professors are supposed to be nice, not try to trip you up with deep questions.

DaRascal pre-law school/LSATprep was a lot more entertaining than DaRascal in law school

OCI? I don't even know if I'll make it to the end of tomorrow the way things are going! I'm so close to being on the verge of a meltdown in class. If a professor cold calls me again I can see myself just spouting out incoherent legalese and standing in the front of the class performing robotic dance maneuvers. I'm really that close to losing my mind.

1L here. Unless I'm in the top quarter, I'm probably dropping at the end of the semester. Law school blows

Does anyone recommend I apply for decent jobs in the mean time? Is there anything I can get with my employment gaps in the two years since I graduated from college? I have a B.A. in English from a T25 undergrad, but I don't see how that helps at all.


If I apply to area jobs and make it known that I'm enrolled at the top law school in my state, will that be helpful to getting employed? Because I'm at the point where if I can land a job that pays 40-50k per year right now without needing additional schooling, I'd take it in a heartbeat and drop out of law school this morning.

I really do think I should have taken that advice! Btw, I missed class for the first time ever today... well all three of my classes that I was supposed to have. It's all good. That means it's reading day haha.

I didn't know that being a lawyer would be so serious. I thought I was getting into something that was a bit more casual honestly.
