After each chapter there are problems. Should i do them right after i finish the chapter or wait to use them during exam prep?

Both!

Just use them if, when, and as they're useful. The chapters are unlikely to line up perfectly with what your professor assigns and discusses in class, so don't view them as gospel. They can be useful to get you thinking about the application of all the rules you're learning though.
